Alternative to default theme of GNOME Shell

Installation:
1. Install "User Themes Extension" [link]
2. Extract zip to ~/.themes
3. Use Gnome-Tweak-Tool

Arch linux users can install this (assuming usage of yaourt) by running "yaourt -S gnome-shell-theme-default-mod"

Instructions:

Please avoid a manual install and use the GNOME Tweak Tool, it's much easier.

You can use the gnome-shell theme extension for easier switching of themes.

GNOME Tweak Tool

Make sure you have user-theme-extension installed. Load the GNOME Tweak Tool and go to Shell Extensions and click the "Use Theme Extension" switch. Now go to "Theme" and click the Shell Theme box and locate your theme zip. Now you can select the theme in the dropdown box.

Compatibility: GNOME Shell 3.4

+ Icon

To use the + icon in your status menu, just copy the icon I put in the theme directory(user-available-symbolic.svg) to /usr/share/icons/gnome/scalable/status. Backup your old icon first. If you are using an icon theme that uses it's own symbolic icons, you'll have to replace their icon.

GTK2 ENGINES REQUIREMENT
- GTK2 engine Murrine 0.98.1.1 or later.

Fedora/RedHat distros:

Ubuntu/Mint/Debian distros:
sudo apt-get install gtk2-engines-murrine gtk2-engines-pixbuf

ArchLinux:

If you have some problems with Flatastic themes and gtk apps just send a bug report here,and I will try to fix it(do not send for qt apps).

Important

The GTK3 theme supports Gnome 3.8, 3.10 and 3.12, but the Gnome Shell theme only works on 3.10 and 3.12. Also the tabs you are seeing in nautilus, gedit, etc. are only for Gnome 3.12 due to the reworked tab system in this version.

A Chrome/Chromium theme is included.

Requirements

gnome-themes-standard package for the GTK3 theme. Murrine and pixbuf engines for the GTK2 theme.

I was a bit reluctant to release this theme at first because I want to change so many things at once. However, I always get stuck on something that stops me from continuing with my ideas.

GTK engines required: (All latest versions of course.)
gtk2-engines-murrine, gtk2-engines-pixbuf

This is meant to be used with your own custom panel background or the one I included. Follow the installation instructions for the advanced option.

No nautilus-elementary style in this as it's no longer maintained.

Known bugs in the GTK theme:
- Pixmap scrollbar is displayed 1px off in nautilus.
- Scrollbar in Opera and Firefox isn't rounded where it's supposed to be rounded.
- Tool buttons in GIMP aren't styled with the correct murrine button. Application bug I believe.
- The leftmost toolbar buttons in nautilus aren't styled properly with the murrine button. No idea what's wrong.

This cinnamon 1.8 theme was inspired by many things.The lucido awn style that is default in zorin OS as well as the Divergence theme were most influential!Hope you enjoy!


Instructions:
-Extract the file and move the four theme folders to ~/.themes or /usr/share/themes.

-Install the "spacer applet(right-click panel-->add applet-->get more online) and add one instance of it in the first place on the right like this:i.imgur.com/aIFmvEI.png

-The file comes with 2 different themes.One is the regular theme (Edge and Edge top panel),and the other is the theme with the orb enabled!
If you are using the orb theme then remove the icon and text from your menu applet(right-click menu-->menu settings)

-This file also comes with 6 different orbs.To change your orb all you have to do is copy-paste the 3 .png files from the orbs folder into your theme folder and restart cinnamon!

Faience is a Work In Progress that include GTK3, GTK2, Metacity and Gnome-Shell themes and an icon theme based on Faenza.

Support Gnome 3.10 only / needs Murrine (GTK2) and Unico (GT3) engines to work properly.

Installation:
Extract the zip file and put the 'Faience' folder inside your ~/.themes directory. Use the Gome-Shell theme extension to select Faience theme.

Launchpad PPA
Faience GTK, Gnome-shell and icon themes are available to install via a PPA repository. Open a terminal and run :
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:tiheum/equinox
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install faience-theme faience-icon-theme
